New 48-hour heat health alerts have been issued for parts of England, with temperatures expected to hit 30C. The warnings come into force at 9am on Friday and remain in place until 9am on Sunday, covering six regions.
Officials have warned the rising temperatures are likely to have an impact on people’s health and wellbeing as much of the country continues to experience a prolonged spell of dry and warm weather. Temperatures across the affected areas are forecast to reach the mid to high 20s, while highs of 30C are possible in parts of South East England on Friday.
