Parts of the UK cound soon see temperatures plunge below 10C as cold weather conditions sweep across the country. Northern areas of the country, including Scotland and the north east of England, will be those more affected by the cold chill set to hit next Tuesday (August 11), according to new weather charts.

The weather maps from WXCharts.com show a cold snap hitting the entire country at around 6am after a prolonged period of hot weather. The south of the country, including London, the east and south east, may not see the mercury rise aove 15C. The rest of the country, especially northern areas, will experience much colder weather, with temperatures ranging from lows of 6C to 10C.

A long-range forecast from the Met Office covering August 11, said northwestern parts will see some spells of rain and stronger winds.

It also read: "Further into August, lower pressure may start to track further south south or east.

"This means there is a greater chance of frontal systems or thundery interludes to affect southern and eastern areas in comparison to recent weeks, though rainfall amounts could be quite variable with some areas still seeing relatively little.

"For the most part, temperatures look to remain above average, especially in the south, and perhaps turning very warm or hot."
